Research in the pre-hospital field represents an expanding and exciting opportunity for students, and to encourage student research activities, SPA is hosting a student poster competition! There are fantastic prizes available and the top 10 entrants will have their posters displayed at the conference venue with the winners presented with their prizes on the day. Download the rules and the marking guide, and start on your entry today!

Poster Rules

Judging:

1st Prize: $1000

2nd Prize: $400

3rd Prize: $200

4th – 10th Prize: $50

All other entries that meet the marking criteria will automatically go in the draw to win a $50 cash prize.

The Rules:

  1. You must be enrolled in an undergraduate paramedic degree;
  2. 500 word maximum on an A3 document (references are not included in word count);
  3. Must have a minimum of 5 references;
  4. Must be your own work (no group work);
  5. Only one entry per person.

Required Information:

  • Your name, Year level, Degree & Institution (eg. John Smith, First year paramedic student at Victoria University)
  • Topic / Title (eg. The Importance of Hand Washing)
  • Background / Introduction (Why this is relevant to ambulance or paramedics)
  • Objectives (The objective of your task or research)
  • Methods (What you did eg. Review of current literature)
  • Findings (Why is this important to prehospital care?)
  • Conclusion / Summary References (Referencing need to be in the style required by your university)
