SPA Committee Applications are now open!!

Student Paramedics Australasia has grown enormously as an organisation over the past few years. We have achieved much. From our hugely successful national conference held at the William Angliss Conference Centre in Melbourne, charity contributions with Young Care, student blood drive with club red and the Red Cross, engagement with our societies in every state of Australia and the wins we have had lobbying to make student paramedics eligible for health care grants and scholarships – SPA is making things happen.

This is your opportunity to get involved. The benefits of being part of an organisation like SPA will impact just about every area of your life. Learn to work as part of a large, diverse and national team. Develop leadership skills as you are encouraged to make decisions about your portfolio and stand by them. Meet some amazing and influential people in the world of paramedics and health care. Gain a genuine insight into the workings of organisations like SPA, and Paramedics Australasia (PA), experience how the difficult decisions get made, how the internal and external political environments affect policies and programs.

PA and SPA are leading the push for paramedic registration. This is a time of change for the paramedic profession. Joining SPA will enable you to play a valuable part in this process, should you take the opportunity.

We are looking for motivated and creative students who will take charge of their portfolio, tackle their responsibilities and help to make SPA bigger and better than before! If you think you have the drive and the commitment to be an asset to our team, have a look through the portfolio descriptions below and apply to the one you think suits you best. If you have skills that don’t fit into an individual portfolio you can apply with no position in mind, but outline what you feel you can bring to the committee!

Who Can Apply

Any student enrolled in a full-time or part-time Paramedic degree, including undergraduate or postgraduate studies (honours, masters etc.) can apply. Graduate Paramedics who have recently completed or expect to complete an undergraduate degree and are currently undertaking a graduate or internship program will also be considered. Only applications by individuals studying in Australia will be accepted

All applications must be sent via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . For more information, please do not hesitate to contact the SPA Director.

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY THE 7TH OF OCTOBER 2011
