AHPRA Paramedicine Registration Update #2
The Paramedicine Board of Australia and AHPRA thanks everyone who submitted feedback on the proposed registration standards during the consultation period, which closed last month. We have now submitted the revised proposed standards for approval by the Ministerial Council over the coming weeks. When approved, the standards will be published on our website.
In addition to the proposed standards, a supporting guideline for continuing professional development and a fact sheet in relation to the registration standard for grandparenting arrangements will also be submitted. Additional supporting materials will be developed once the standards are approved.
We are waiting on advice from Ministers about the date in late 2018 that all paramedics will be required to be registered to practise in Australia (also known as participation day) and will let you know as soon as this confirmed. We will begin receiving and assessing applications for registration at least three months prior to this date.
This update includes: · a recording of our webinar on the proposed registration standards all paramedics will have to meet to practise in Australia · An FAQ resource on the proposed registration standards to help answer questions raised during the webinar, and · The communique from the February Paramedicine Board of Australia (the Board) meeting.
We want to make sure that current, future and past paramedics know about national registration and in the near future, what they will have to do for registration. So, head to http://ahpraorg.force.com/Subscribe and fill in your details to always be in the know of what is an exciting time for paramedicine.
