Melanie Scott is an ex-police officer with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Melanie is an advocate for First Responder PTSD, founder of the charity K9s 4 Valour and runs a dog training business 'Melanie Scott K9 Training'. Melanie trains Service, Therapy and Companion dogs throughout Victoria focusing on strengthening the canine-human bond to improve mental health. Melanie is accompanied by Paddington, a two-year-old German Shepherd cross who is training to become a PTSD Service Dog.
Melanie's presentation will look into her experiences with PTSD and how working with service dogs has had a positive effect on her life.
